- Home Remodeling Process Made Stress Free - Meet the Experts
At this workshop, you will learn about when do you need permits and what type of permits do you need for your home improvement projects? This workshop will cover the essential information for people interested in remodeling their home, including kitchens, baths, decks, stairs and vertical or horizontal additions.
- Making the Best use of the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) & Unit Legalization Programs
At this workshop, you will learn about how you can turn your unused storage space into dwelling units and legalize your ‘in-law units’ without penalty. This workshop covers the requirements for homeowners to legalize existing ‘in-law units’. Additionally, we will discuss new requirements that allow you to turn your unused spaces within your building envelope into accessory dwelling units.
Complying with the Accessible Business Program
At this workshop, you will learn about the City's new accessibility law, the Accessible Business Entrance (ABE). This new program helps property owners comply with existing state and federal accessibility laws and helps people with disabilities gain greater access to goods and services offered by businesses in San Francisco. Passed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 2016 (Ordinance No. 51-16), the ordinance requires that existing buildings with a place of “public accommodation” have all primary entrances accessible for people with disabilities from the public right of way. If your business serves the public, this program may apply to you.
Topics to be covered, include:
Step-by-step Review on Completing the Pre-Screening and Category Compliance Checklist forms
Building Permitting Process
Technical Infeasibilities & Unreasonable Hardships
