Tall Building Safety Strategy Study- What You Need to Know |
At this workshop, you will learn about the key recommendations from the City’s recently commissioned “Tall Building Safety Strategy Study” by Applied Technology Council. The San Francisco Tall Buildings Study is the first study in the nation to look at the impact of earthquakes on a large group of buildings higher than 240 feet. |
Changes with the Updated Vacant Commercial Storefront Ordinance |
At this workshop, you will learn how you can comply with the Vacant Storefront ordinance that was recently amended in March 2019. This ordinance requires property owners to register all storefronts within 30 days of becoming vacant with annual registrations and annual inspections required of vacant space to ensure code compliance and building safety. |
Complying with the Accessible Business Entrance Program |
At this workshop, you will learn about the City's new accessibility law, the Accessible Business Entrance (ABE). This new program helps property owners comply with existing state and federal accessibility laws and helps people with disabilities gain greater access to goods and services offered by businesses in San Francisco. Presenters will discuss which form you can turn in and next steps to take to be compliant. |
Home Remodeling Process Made Stress-Free – Meet the Experts |
At this workshop, you will learn about the type of permits you will need for your home improvement projects. This workshop will cover the essential information for people interested in remodeling their home, including kitchens, baths, decks, stairs and vertical or horizontal additions. |
Making the Best Use of the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) & Unit Legalization Programs |
At this workshop, you will learn how you can turn unused spaces on your property into dwelling units and legalize existing ‘in-law units’ without penalty. This workshop covers the requirements for homeowners to legalize existing ‘in-law units’. Additionally, we will discuss new requirements that allow you to turn your unused spaces within your building envelope into accessory dwelling units. |
