Failure to Comply

Your property has been posted with a Notice of Violation (NOV) and Earthquake Warning placard because you have failed to comply by the September 15 deadline, as required by the Mandatory Soft Story Program.

TO COMPLY: IF YOU CONTINUE TO FAIL TO COMPLY

File  a permit application to comply with the NOV today!

Begin the permit application process by bringing with you two (2) sets of plans and one (1) set of structural calculations to DBI's Public Information Counter on the First Floor of 1660 Mission Street.

If you comply within the specified time provided on the NOV, you will not incur enforcement fees.

To comply with the NOV after a Director's Order of Abatement is issued, you may be responsible for reimbursing the Department code abatement costs and any other applicable fees incurred.

Your property will be processed for further code enforcement if you continue to fail to comply with the Program's requirement. You will incur enforcement fees until you take the necessary steps to comply with the Program.

Failure to comply with the posted NOV's specified time frame will result in the issuance of a Final Warning Letter and further code enforcement action.

If you do not take corrective action within the time frame specified in the Final Waring Letter, your property will be scheduled for a Director's Hearing, which you will be required to attend.

Continued failure to comply can result in an order of abatement and/or lien on your property, along with City Attorney action.
