RESIDENTIAL HOTEL STATUS REPORT (RHSR)
In June 2019, an Ordinance 99-19 became effective and amended Chapter 41 of the San Francisco administrative code. The amendment to Section 41.22 requires owners of residential hotels seeking to sell or otherwise transfer title complete a Residential Hotel Status Report (RHSR) to be verified by the Housing Inspection Services.
Steps to obtaining a verified Residential Hotel Status Report:
- Transferor/Seller is required to furnish information requested for the RHSR.
- Transferor/Seller to transmit via email completed RHSR to Housing Inspection Services for review and verification.
- Housing Inspection services to review and verify report within 10 business days of receipt of completed RHSR from transferor/seller via email.
- Transferor/Seller delivers verified RHSR to Title Receiver/Buyer at time of sale.
- Title Receiver/Buyer reviews RHSR and verifies receipt on Page 3 of the report. A copy of the proof of receipt of the RHSR should be emailed to Housing Inspection Services within 30 days of transfer of title.
