1.0

Call to Order and Roll Call and confirmation of quorum.

2.0

Election of the Chair and Vice Chair for the Code Advisory Committee. The term of office for each is one year and will commence with the CAC regular meeting of February 10, 2010. (10 minutes)

3.0

Discussions and possible action regarding a proposed substitute Ordinance (File #091113) finding a compelling public policy basis for expediting the processing and review of permits for voluntary seismic retrofit upgrades of soft-story, wood-frame buildings and amending the Planning Code, Building Code, Fire Code, and Public Works Code to waive permit processing fees for the proportionate share of work related to such seismic retrofit upgrades; making environmental findings and findings of consistency with the City’s General Plan and Planning Code Section 101.1. The possible action would be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection Commission for their further action. (30 minutes)

4.0

Discussions and possible action regarding a proposed Ordinance (File #090584) amending the San Francisco Building Code by adding a new Chapter 13D to require commercial buildings to increase efficiency of fluorescent lighting by 2011; amending Section 705 of the Environment Code to require City-owned facilities to increase efficiency of fluorescent lighting; adopting findings required by California Health and Safety Code Section 17958.7 and environmental findings; and directing the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors to forward this ordinance to the California Building Standards Commission upon final passage. The possible action would be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection Commission for their further action. (30 minutes)

Discussions and possible action regarding a proposed update to Administrative Bulletin AB-046, Special Inspection and Structural Observation Procedures. The possible action would be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection Commission for their further action. (15 minutes)

6.0

Discussions and possible action regarding a proposed Administrative Bulletin AB-090 (Draft #8), Destination-Based Elevator Control System Requirements. (15 minutes)

CAC discussion and possible action regarding administrative issues related to building codes. (10 minutes)

Public Comment on items not on this agenda but within the jurisdiction of the Code Advisory Committee. Comment time is limited to 3 minutes or as determined by of the Chairperson.
