1.0 Call to Order and Roll Call.
Members: Stephen Harris, S.E.; Chair; Ned Fennie, AIA.; Rene’ Vignos, S.E.
Meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Quorum established with 3 members present.
2.0 Approval of the minutes of the Structural Subcommittee regular meeting of March 10, 2009.
No discussion.
3.0 Approval of the minutes of the Structural Subcommittee special meeting of April 21, 2009.
No discussion.
4.0 Discussion and possible action on draft AB-046.
Draft #1 by Ray Lui was discussed.
There was a need for SEAONC representative to weigh in on this AB and the forms at the CAC meeting. It was also not easy to separate special inspection items and structural test items. Further review by Hanson Tom and other plan checkers would also be required. Possible consolidation of the signatures, the need for a small project version, clarification of special inspection agency versus special inspector and testing Agency, contractual responsibilities of owner to engage services of design professional during construction, clarification of building official versus plan checker, inspector and special inspection unit, final letter from design professional were also discussed.
Discussion and possible action on possible modifications to San Francisco Building Code Section 105A.7 to remove the requirement for an Unreinforced Masonry Building Appeals Board.

6.0 Discussion and possible action on 2007 SFBC Section 1604.11.3 and 3403.2 to incorporate applicable provisions of 2001 SFBC Section 1605.4.3 and 3403.2.1.1, exception 1

7.0 Discussion and possible action on 2007 SFBC Section 3403.2.3.2.4 to incorporate recommendations of SEAONC on repairs.
