  1. Call to Order and Roll Call.
    Members: Stephen Harris, S.E.; Chair; Ned Fennie, AIA.; Rene’ Vignos, S.E.

    Meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. Quorum established with 2 members present. 

  2. Approval of the minutes of the Structural Subcommittee regular meeting of March 9, 2010.

    No discussion
  3. Discussion and possible action on proposed amendments on structural provisions to the 2010 California Building Code

    No discussion.
  4. Discussion and possible action on proposed amendments on structural provisions to the 2010 California Residential Code

    No discussion.
  5. Proposed revisions to AB-094, Criteria for Voluntary seismic Upgrade of Soft-Story Buildings.

    The proposed draft revision #1 and comments by David Bonowitz from SEAONC committee were distributed for discussion.

    Definition of “soft-story Type V (wood-frame) building” or “qualifying buildings”, inclusion of ASCE Standard 31 as reference, applicability to 1- or 2-family dwelling, alternative rational methodology, deletion of definition for length of wall and inclusion of soft story ordinance as attachment were discussed, resulting in draft revision #2.

    A motion to approve the proposed draft revision #2 and forward to full CAC. Seconded and approved.
