AGENDA

1.0           Call to Order and Roll Call and confirmation of quorum.                    (2 minutes)                                                  (2 minutes)

2.0          Approval of minutes of prior Code Advisory Committee (CAC) the Regular Meeting of October 16, 2002.                                                             (5minutes)

3.0          Status report, discussion and possible action regarding certain horizontal extensions such as decks being considered a structural addition under the San Francisco Building Code and a consequent requirement for an Article 311 notification requirement under the Planning Code. The possible action will be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection Commission for their further action.                                                                                                              (10 minutes)

4.0          Discussion and possible action regarding a proposed ordinance (Supervisor Gerardo Sandoval) to require that a permit be issued before commencing with construction of concrete paving, other than a driveway, in a front yard setback area and providing that violation of the permit requirement shall be an infraction subject to fines up to $500. This ordinance would also amend San Francisco Building Code Section 110, Table 1-F to establish the permit fee. The possible action will be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection Commission for their further action.                                                                                (20 minutes)

5.0          Discussion and possible action regarding a proposed Construction and Demolition Ordinance (San Francisco Department of the Environment) that would require certain projects, as a condition of obtaining a permit, to submit a recycling plan for City staff approval that meets minimum construction waste diversion requirements, and pay both an administrative fee and a refundable deposit. The possible action will be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection Commission for their further action.                                        (20 minutes)

6.0          Status report on procedure for finalizing of open permits and discussion of draft notification letter to owner of building having an open (no final inspection) permit.

7.0          Discussion and possible action regarding special inspection procedures with respect to smoke control issues. The possible action will be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection Commission for their further action.

8.0          Report, discussion and possible action regarding completion of new and updating of existing Administrative Bulletins.                                        (15 minutes)
