On-line project and permit application and tracking
coming Fall 2013!
The Department of Building Inspection (DBI) and the San Francisco Planning Department (SF Planning) are currently working on new permit and project tracking system that will include an on-line web site for submitting and processing permits and applications. This exciting technical infrastructure project aims to consolidate multiple database systems into a single permitting system. The Permit & Project Tracking System (PPTS) project is a collaboration between the two departments with other agencies expected to join in future years. The project utilizes software developed by Accela Automation in conjunction with a consultant team from 21 Tech for implementation.
Analysis and configuration (design of the system) is almost complete. The current phase, from August of 2012 to Spring 2013, includes building system interfaces, designing reports, converting historical data and developing testing and training programs.
The new system will have a single point of entry for the public in the form of a web site, and will offer a wide range of property and project information on-line as well as the ability to file certain applications and permits on-line.
The system is anticipated to go live Fall 2013.
How you can get involved!
We are receiving public input in the development of the new Permit and Project Tracking System in two ways:
Citizen Advisory Group This group was selected by Planning and Building Senior Staff and Commissioners to fully represent the various types of citizen who will be using the Permit & Project Tracking System. The purpose of the Citizen Advisory Group is to test the system and provide feedback to staff. The group is expected to meet approximately one time per month between January and April, 2013. |
Stakeholder Group Please sign up in the Get Project Alerts box (above) if you would like to receive updates on the PPTS and/or attend one of the stakeholder meetings. SF Planning and DBI staff will be offering at least 2 demonstrations of the new system in the spring of 2013, to all interested members of the public. |
