Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by James Sanbonmatsu.
Roll call / Determination of Quorum:
James Sanbonmatsu determined there was a quorum.
Peter Keith made a correction that the Rent Board had not adopted a position, regarding charging SRO Tenants’ guests for using showers. Sam Patel made the motion that the November 15, 2018 meeting minutes be adopted with the correction. Angela Chu seconded the motion. The minutes were adopted unanimously.
Margot Antonetty made a motion to move agenda item #5 before item #4. Jordan Davis seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously.
Margot Antonetty introduced guest speaker Dara Papo, Care Coordination Services Manager from the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing. Dara gave a presentation on Wellness Check policies and procedures. All members discussed and made comments on the topic.
Administrative Announcements: SRO TF Ordinance and SRO Directory
James Sanbonmatsu announced the SRO Directory bilingual versions are in progress.
The SRO Directory is available online on the SRO Task Force page. Paper copies were distributed.
Reports from SRO Collaborative:
Reports from Angela Chu of Chinatown SRO Collaborative – Chinatown CDC, Clifford Gilmore of Central City SRO Collaborative. Margot Antonetty, Larry Kessler, Sam Patel and Peter Keith made comments.
Prioritization of Future Meeting Topics:
Jordan Davis suggested future topics to be discussed, including tenant’s rights in non-profit hotels, water quality issues. Dan Jordan suggested service animals in SRO hotels.
Margot Antonetty suggested we contact the SPCA or the Mayor’s Office on Disability.
General Public Comment:
Jordan Davis made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Angela Chu seconded the motion.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:26am by James Sanbonmatsu.
