AGENDA 
 
1.0 Call to Order, Roll Call and confirmation of quorum. 
2.0 Approval of the minutes of the Code Advisory Committee regular meeting of March 13, 
2019. 
3.0 Discussion and possible action regarding carrying forward the energy and green building 
provisions of the San Francisco Green Building Code into the 2019 code cycle. 
 
 
The possible action would be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection 
Commission for their further action. 
 
4.0 Discussion and possible action regarding conforming San Francisco’s existing 
amendments to the 2016 California Plumbing, Mechanical, or Electrical Codes to the 
new 2018 Uniform Plumbing & Mechanical Codes and the 2017 National Electric Code 
along with the approved California State agency amendments to them for 2019 San 
Francisco Code Adoption. 
 
 
The possible action would be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection 
Commission for their further action. 
 
5.0 Discussion and possible action regarding conforming San Francisco’s existing 
amendments to the 2016 California Building & Residential Codes to the new 2018 
International Building & Residential Codes along with the approved California state 
agency amendments to them. San Francisco Building Code amendment chapters 
include 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,13A,13D,27,28,29,36 for 2019 San Francisco Code Adoption. 
 
 
The possible action would be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection 
Commission for their further action. 
 
6.0 Discussion and possible action regarding conforming San Francisco’s existing 2016 
code amendments to Chapter 1,1A, 2,10A, 11C, 11D, 12,14,15,24, 25, 26, 30, 31, 31B, 
31F, 32, & 35 of the 2016 California Building Code to the new 2018 International 
Building & Residential Codes along with the approved California state agency 
amendments to them for 2019 San Francisco Code Adoption. 
 
 
The possible action would be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection 
Commission for their further action. 
 
7.0 Discussion and possible action regarding San Francisco Amendments to the 2019 
California Building and Existing Building Code. 
 
 
The possible action would be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection 
Commission for their further action. 
 
8.0 Discussion and possible action regarding a proposed ordinance amending the Plumbing 
Code to delete the local amendment to the California Plumbing Code referring to the 
San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s Rules and Regulations in the section on 
Cross-Connection Control, and to add local cross-connection controls for beverage 
dispensers and industrial water chillers and a testing requirement for backflow 
prevention assemblies or devices. 
 
 
The possible action would be to make a recommendation to the Building Inspection 
Commission for their further action.
