DBI DIRECTOR APPOINTS MANAGER OF SUPPORT SERVICES;

JOHN P. JOHNS, CPA, ASSUMES DUTIES DECEMBER 3RD

 

SAN FRANCISCO, November 29, 2007: Isam Hasenin, P.E., C.B.O., and Director of San Francisco’s Department of Building Inspection, today announced the appointment of John P. Johns as Manager of Support Services.  The appointment is effective Monday, December 3rd.

 

 “It’s a pleasure to welcome John Johns to the department’s executive management team,” Hasenin said. “He offers more than 20 years’ experience in areas critical to public sector financial management, financial auditing, forensic accounting, information systems and performance-based improvements.  John will work closely with me on the Department’s budget preparation and monitoring, as well as provide revenue analysis, accounting and payroll functions and manage personnel and purchasing.”

 

Johns has a Masters in Business Administration, and is licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in California.  He has been the Finance Director/Treasurer of Atherton, California for the past six years, and also served as a Principal for IBM Global Services.  He has worked as a Senior Manager for KPMG LLP in its Mountain View, California office; and he served as a Senior Manager in the Harvey M. Rose Corporation for ten years, where he provided a wide range of accounting, auditing and financial analysis for the City and County of San Francisco, the Santa Clara Board of Supervisors and other clients throughout California and Arizona.

 

Johns has lectured at the University of California, Santa Cruz, on financial management and information technology.  He’s a member of the Government Finance Officer’s Association, the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  Johns is a marathon runner, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
