Fire-only Permits
From 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, customers can drop off permit applications that require only Fire Department review. Found below are examples of fire-only scopes of work. Fire Department staff can accommodate 25 customers daily, first-come, first-served. Each customer can submit a maximum of 2 permits per day..
Fire-only plan review scope of work includes:
- Sprinkler system (including standpipe & underground work)
- Fire alarm and/or smoke detection system
- Dedicated Function FA system (elevator recall, HVAC shut-down, sprinkler monitoring)
- Any fire suppression system (Pre-action, Clean Agent, etc.)
- Emergency evacuation signage
- Emergency Responder Radio Coverage System (ERRCS)
- Elevators (FSAE & OEE)
- Air replenishment systems
Fire-only Application Revision Submissions
To submit revisions to an existing fire-only permit application, you can do one of two things:
- Come to 49 South Van Ness during fire-only permit applications drop-off time (9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday) and submit 2 new sets of plans that supersede the original plans submitted.
- Make an appointment with the plan reviewer who provided comments:
- To meet in the 49 South Van Ness lobby with the original plans to insert revised pages for Form 3 applications; or
- To pick up the plans from the 49 South Van Ness lobby to return at a later time with new inserts for Form 8 applications.
