The Department of Building Inspection:
Permits, Programs and Emergency Preparedness
The Department of Building Inspection, the City’s regulatory agency that oversees the safety of the more than 200,000 commercial and residential buildings in San Francisco, will be presenting at the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Forum on June 9th.
DBI will provide a departmental overview, including how to go about obtaining building permits, and will discuss its new "unit addition" program. DBI staff will also explain what you can do to prepare your business before and after an emergency event, like an earthquake.
With the recent earthquakes in Nepal, Papua New Guinea, off the Northern California Coast, and across the East Bay, public awareness and education of emergency preparedness is a vital step everyone needs to take. As business owners, learn how you can prepare your business for the next earthquake.
