Regular Meeting of the Fire and Life Safety Subcommittee

AGENDA

1.0 Call to Order and Roll Call. Members: Jerry Cunningham, P.E., Chair, Marc Cunningham.

 

2.0 Discussion and possible action regarding a proposed ordinance (File No. 081089) reactivated by Supervisor Mirkarimi amending chapter 26 of the San Francisco Fire Code by adding Section 2611 to prohibit in San Francisco the installation of torch-applied roof systems on combustible roofs; adopting environmental findings and findings required by California Health & Safety Code Section 17958.7; and directing the Clerk of the Board to forward San Francisco’s amendment and findings to the California Building Standards Commission and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.  The possible action would be to make a recommendation to the full Code Advisory Committee for their further action. (15 minutes) 

 

3.0 Discussion and possible action regarding the standing (existing) San Francisco Amendments to Chapters 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,13,31E,and 35 of the 2007 San Francisco Building Code (SFBC) along with any new proposed amendments. The possible action is to make recommendations to the full Code Advisory Committee whether to keep, revise or to delete a standing amendment, or to add a new amendment to the proposed 2010 SFBC Amendments.  The standing Amendments that will be reviewed are included in the following chapters:

4.0 Discussion and possible action regarding any revisions or additions related to the California Building Code, California Residential Code or any other California Title 24 Code.  (15 minutes)

 

5.0 General discussions and possible action regarding the proposed integration of the 2010 California Residential Code into the proposed 2010 San Francisco Building Code. (20 minutes)                                             

6.0 Subcommittee Members’ and Staff’s identification of agenda items for the next meeting, as well as current agenda items to be continued to another subcommittee regular meeting or special meeting. Subcommittee discussion and possible action regarding administrative issues related to building codes. (5 minutes)

7.0 Public Comment. Comment time is limited to 3 minutes per person or at the call of the Chair (5 minutes)
