Status report, discussion, and possible action regarding proposed Administrative Bulletin AB-088 regarding Requirements for Space for Recycling.  The possible action will be to make recommendations to the Building Inspection Commission (BIC) for their further action.  (Laurence Kornfield).

Status report, discussion, and possible action regarding a proposed ordinance (File No. 080063), Green Building Requirements, amending the San Francisco Building Code by adding Chapter 13C to impose green building requirement on newly constructed residential buildings, newly constructed commercial buildings that are 5,000 gross square feet or more, alterations to new or existing commercial interiors that re 25,000 gross square feet or more in area, and major alterations to existing buildings that are 25,000 gross square feet or more in area, where interior finishes are removed and significant upgrades to structural and mechanical, electrical and/or plumbing systems are proposed; exempting City projects, which are covered by Chapter 7 of the San Francisco Environmental Code. The possible action will be to make recommendations to the Building Inspection (BIC) for their further action.    (Laurence Kornfield).

Status report, discussion, and possible action regarding a proposed ordinance (File No. 080100), Requiring Lighting Efficiency Measures in Commercial and City Buildings, amending the 2007 San Francisco Building Code by adding a new Chapter to require commercial buildings to install more efficient fluorescent lighting or other lighting efficiency measures by 2009.  The possible action will be to make recommendations to the Building Inspection Commission (BIC) for their further action. (Cal Broomhead).

Discussion and possible action regarding a proposed ordinance (Supervisor Peskin, File 070925) amending the San Francisco Building Code by Adding Chapter 13C to require new or added construction over 20,000 square feet to comply with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold rating or an equivalent green building standard except for City Projects, which are covered by Chapter 7 of the San Francisco Environment Code.

Discussion and possible action regarding two Administrative Bulletins:

  • AB-082, Requirements and Guidelines for Structural Design Review Procedures (new)
  • AB-083, Seismic Design and Review Procedures for New Tall Buildings (updated for 2007 SFBC)
