About routine housing inspections

What to expect.

Routine inspections help keep older buildings safe for residents

Routine building inspections can help find problems before they become worse. They can reduce risks to residents. They can also reduce the cost of repairs.

What to expect with a routine housing inspection

  1. Housing Inspection Services (from the Department of Building Inspection) will send you a letter. It will have an inspection date.
  2. The letter will also include a maintenance checklist. The checklist is an overview of what the inspector will look for.
  3. On the inspection date, the inspector will inspect the property. They will make sure that minimum standards are maintained. They will also look for health and safety hazards.

If you have questions, contact Housing Inspection Services at 628-652-3700.
