Effective Monday, May 3, 2010, DBI will improve its permit processing, and implement a key Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) recommendation, by pre-screening First-time or infrequent customers at the 1st floor Information Counter at the 1660 Mission Street Permit Center.
Long-time, frequent and repeat customers may go directly to the 5th floor for 'Over-the-Counter' applications, or to the Central Permit Counter on the first floor for project applications submittals.
We expect frequent and repeat customers to resolve any and all complaint or violation issues first at the appropriate division on the Third and Sixth floors, or at the Self-Help Kiosks available near the Public Information Counter -- thereby saving process review and approval time.
Please note we want to resolve all 'What If' and informational questions at the First Floor Help Desk/Public Information Counter in order to facilitate more expeditious permit approvals on the Fifth Floor.
