Get the Nuts and Bolts on Building in San Francisco at Summit

The Department of Building Inspection in San Francisco is sponsoring its second annual Meet the DBI Pros Summit at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

The summit will provide workshops to anyone - from professional contractors to architects to curious homeowners or renters - interested in the nuts and bolts of how things get built in San Francisco. Workshop topics include how to obtain a permit, residential kitchen and bathroom remodels, restaurant remodels, earthquake safety, fire alarms and sprinklers, condo conversion, landlord and tenant responsibilities, and green building/solar installations. There will be a special presentation on the proposed Transbay transportation hub and mixed-use towers.

The free event runs from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 11-12. For information, call (415) 558-6089, e-mail DBISummit@sfgov.org or visit www.sfgov.org/dbi. Reservations are required by Sept. 28 through the department Web site.
